Minnesota Power supports building fund

Minnesota Power demonstrated their support for St. Joseph's Area Health Services new building and renovation project with a contribution worth $50,000. A formal presentation was made at the construction site of the new medical center Tuesday.

In addition, Minnesota Power is working to help secure addition funding through a program specifically aimed to promote energy conservation. This funding will aid the $26 million project when addressing energy usage and provide future utility cost savings in the long run.

"We appreciate the services this organization brings to the region," said Mary Bindewald, Minnesota Power Regional Account Manager. "The services and quality of care provided here are of great value to our customers and the community as a whole."

At the construction site foundation borders are clearly defined as the medical clinic project unfolds. The building project that will house the clinic and hospital is made possible in part by donations from area businesses and individuals.

So far local giving has exceeded $1.5 million of the more than $2.5 million needed to build a quality facility that will secure the region's healthcare legacy into the future.

Minnesota Power's contribution comes at a time when the community is invited to participate in the campaign. St. Joseph's Foundation leaders encourage community members to step forward in support of a unified healthcare system and vital resource.
