Building plans will streamline efficiency, construction to be
completed in phases.
Architectural drawings and floor plans are complete. Physicians, department managers, and staff have poured over wish lists and space requirements for the departments affected by the facility renovation. Requests have been prioritized so St. Joseph's Area Health Services stands out as a quality regional medical center for patients and their families. Drawings will soon be available for the public. Plans are to build and renovate in three phases and groundbreaking for the new construction began in late May and early June of 2007.
The facility project is absolutely essential to continue the positive momentum and continued expansion of services to meet the growing healthcare needs in our region.
This enhanced environment will provide not only much improved space for patients and family members to receive healthcare, but will also enhance the practice environment for physicians and area healthcare professionals.
The new plan incorporates St. Joseph's existing building with a new Dakota Clinic, entrance area unites look
Architectural renderings from Hammel, Green & Abrahamson, Inc. (HGA) give an indication of what the south entrance will look like as St. Joseph's Area Health Services gears up for the new building and renovation project expected to begin next spring.
St. Joseph's and Dakota will share a main entrance (above) for patients and guests. A closer look (below) demonstrates how the valet design shields visitors from the elements upon entering the facility.
The renovation project ultimately will help to improve the way healthcare is delivered to patients by allowing a streamlined service through shared space and close proximity.
