Mammography quilt winner Patricia Melander

Mammography Quilt Winner

St. Joseph’s Area Health Services’ Imaging Technician, Mary Kay Seidl, (right) presented Patricia Melander of Menahga with this year’s mammography quilt.

The Crazy Quilters of Park Rapids donate the handmade quilt annually as part of Breast Cancer Awareness and as a reminder to women that mammograms can catch changes in the breast that may be early signs of cancer but are too small to be felt.

Women who schedule their mammograms at St. Joseph’s have full-field digital mammography technology available to them. As this year’s quilt drawing winner, Melander is really a winner for following guidelines that promote early detection in the fight against breast cancer.
